Governance

What do we do?
Governors work with the Leadership Group at the school to promote continuous improvement in the education provided for all the children attending our school. We work together to make decisions on the overall direction of the school and set policies, targets and development plans. We also decide how to make the best use of the school budget for the benefit of the children’s education.

As governors we work as a team, deciding on things jointly and sharing responsibilities for the decisions we make.

Who are the governors?
Our membership is made up of parents, staff and members of the local community.

Currently no governors have declared any Pecuniary or Business Interests within the school.  To see a schedule of our Governors’ & Members’ Appointments, Declarations of Interests, Attendance at Meetings & Expenses Reimbursed - 1 September 2019 to 31 August 2020, please click here.

At Northwood, the full Governing Body meets once every half term.  Because of the complexity of a school, much of the detailed work is organised through its Finance and Premises, HR and Curriculum committees.

If you wish to contact a Governor please email them c/o office@nwschool.org.uk or If you wish to write to any governor, send it marked 'Private and Confidential' to the school and the letter will be passed on unopened. Finally, if you wish to speak to a Governor on the phone, please contact the School Office on 01923 836363 and arrangements will be made for you to be contacted.
