Young Writers Competition

A staggering 19 mini sagas written by Northwood students from year groups 7 to 9 have been specially selected by a panel of judges from Young Writers to have their work published in a "Stranger Saga" book. 20,000 entries have been submitted nationally so far and following publication in the spring, the students work then goes forward to the national rounds competing across the whole of the UK.

Our winners were chosen as their work demonstrated creative writing, imagination, perception, originality and  good use of language.

Our librarian, Mrs Underwood, promoted the competition and encouraged all to put pen to paper. "This is fantastic news and I have said to students, just try your best, you never know what can be achieved. We are so pleased to see the quality of their work recognised."
