Summer Reading Project 2017 Prizewinners Announced!
Over the summer, all incoming Year 7s were tasked with a Summer Reading Project on the book “Tiger Wars” written by the adventurer and wildlife expert, Steve Backshall. Students had six different activities to complete, ranging from writing their own ending to the book, creating a clan identity and designing a clan tattoo. The level of detail and thought which had gone into the writing pieces and creative artwork was exceptional, making it very difficult to choose a best in each category.
However, after much deliberation the final winners were announced at a Year 7 Assembly, as follows:
Dylan - for research on an endangered species
Lucy - design of own clan tattoo
Romilly - creating own clan identity
Kieren - creating a scene from the book
Leila - writing an alternative ending
Shreya - insightful book review
A big congratulations to them, and to every student who participated in the project. A display of Year 7’s Tiger Wars work is on show in the library.
The prizewinners will be taken on a special visit to London Zoo to discover more about endangered animals and to enjoy the other sights and sounds of the zoo.
