NATIONAL POETRY DAY

Congratulations to Tyler - Year 8 and runner up, Rai - Year 7,  who wrote the winning poems for the POET TREE.

Flying without limits
Reaching down above
Even Physics can't stop us.
Even the power of love.
Dealing with the World
Our feelings are the same.
Maybe we can be proud that we bare our name
Tyler - Year 8 Student

Below is an account of the day by Haleema from Year 7:

National Poetry Day was on Thursday 28th September 2017. The students had a lovely time writing their own acrostic poem on the theme “Freedom” in the library during break and lunchtime.

The students wrote their poems on leaf-shaped paper which the lovely library staff took the time to cut and prepare. We then pinned the poems on the Poet Tree which was kept in the Reading Corner of the Library. Every student who took part was given a National Poetry Day sticker and bookmark.

Many thanks to the Ms Hamblyn and our library staff for helping us celebrate National Poetry Day.
