Matilda the Musical
On Wednesday 2nd May, twenty Year 7-9 students went to see Matilda the musical at the Cambridge Theatre in London. This visit was of particular help to the Year 9 GCSE students as they have studied other musical theatre works such as Wicked, and were able to compare and contrast the musical content of both shows. All years had a good time and found the performance fun, energetic and humorous.
‘Right from the very start, the show was gripping and enthralling. It was also entertaining and very funny, as jokes were being thrown in in almost every line! The use of lighting, sound and an amazing stage all added to the memorable experience of the musical. Although there were jokes dotted around in the dialogue, the musical presented a serious message about never giving up and believing in yourself. Overall, everyone had something positive to say about the musical, and it was a day well spent.’ Leah - Year 9
